Abstract

The risk to suffer a disease in an international trip depends on the country which is visited, the characteristics of the trip and the own characteristics of the traveller, as well as the preventive measures he has adopted. Vaccination is an important tool to reduce this risk. The WHO classifies vaccines in vaccines requested by Law to enter into some countries, vaccines used on a routine basis and vaccines recommended before a trip and depending on the circumstances. The epidemiology of the main inmunopreventive diseases is described, as well as the recommended vaccines for international travellers.
