Synopsis of the vegetation of Sierra de Guadarrama (Spain) arranged as geobotanical guide of the Excursion programmed for the "II Jornadas de Taxonomía Vegetal" (Madrid, 27-V-1990). It includes: (1) Itinerary of the Exeursion and introduetion to the territory; (2) Bioelimatology, (3) Biogeography and (4) Vegetation series and geoseries of the Sierra de Guadarrama; (5) Descriptions of plant communities that will be observed and studied in each one of the selected localities of the itinerary; (6) Phytosociological typology of the plant communities refered; (7) List of the plant taxa mentioned in the text; (8) Bibliographical compilation about the vegetation of Sierra de Guadarrama; and (9) Index of the work. The following new associations and subassociations are proposed: Hispidello hispanicae-Tuberarietum guttatae (hispidelletosum & pterocephalidietosum diandri), Festuco rothmaleri-Juncetum squarrosi (juncetosum squarrosi & festucetosum costei), allietum latiorifolii and Holco reuteri-Caricetun acutiformis. As well, the new nomenclatural combinations Helianthemum appeninum subsp. masguindalii (Pau) comb. nova and Poa cenisia subsp. fontqueri (Br.-Bl.) comb. noca are proposed.
