Abstract

The negotiation and the pact activity had great importance in the political conflicts of the XVth century Castile. The search of consensus inspired those political practices. The medieval aristotelism, the conciliarism and the denominated civic humanism considered the political consensus from different points of view. This concept of consensus can be found in some of the main Castilian authors of political theory. This article studies the presence of the idea of consensus in some of the main political authors of XVth century Castile. In addition, this work considers the different political meanings of this concept of consensus in the mean texts of those authors.
