Abstract
This paper is a new review of Walla-da's biography, after Ibn Bassa-m's Dakhira. Starting with the analysis of the structure of her biography and her biographer's doubts about the data's reliability, I proceed to compare Ibm Bassam' article on the umayyade princess with other Arabic sources, anthologies and biographical dictionaries: namely, Ja-qa-n, Ibn Baskuwal, Ibn Dihya, Ibn Sa-kir al-Kutubi, al-Suyuti, al-Maqqari.
