Abstract
Ganglional cysts or synovial cysts are one of the most frequent benign tumors of the lower limbs. They are the result of synovial infiltration across a tendon sheath or joint capsule due to a compessive process, originating a painless soft-tissue mass, except if its exposed to graze or pressure. In this lecture the diagnosis, surgical treatment and evolution of a ganglion with atypical íocaíízaííon, is described. An excissional biopsy of the lesion was performed, resulting in a definitve histological diagnosis of cronic ganglion with associated fibrosis.
