Resumen

Este trabajo profundiza en las relaciones entre las decisiones de gestión del conocimiento y la creación de ventajas competitivas sostenibles. La incorporación de la complejidad de las capacidades tecnológicas como variable mediadora y explicativa de esas relaciones, permite justificar el efecto de las fuentes de conocimiento y su posterior codificación en el sostenimiento de las ventajas competitivas. Los resultados indican que el acceso al conocimiento a traves del empleo mayoritario de fuentes internas y su posterior codificación son claves para desarrollar capacidades tecnológicas, cuya estructura interna de la complejidad mejora el sostenimiento de las ventajas competitivas. La evidencia obtenida no permite explicar que el efecto positivo y significativo del empleo equilibrado de fuentes internas y externas, se justifique a través de la estructura de complejidad de la que ambos tipos de fuente son responsables.
