Resumen

The San Cristóbal Hill (Logrosán, Cáceres) is a granitic cupola whose relief stands out from the Schist-Greywacke Neoproterozoic Lower Unit host rocks. Bronze Age civilizations lived in the San Cristóbal Hill and left archaeological tools related with a possible early tin mining activity in the area. Located in a traditional phosphate mining village, this hill was disregarded for centuries. In 1949 the tin deposits were rediscovered and the extractive works were carried on until 1962. Besides the mining and historic heritage, the San Cristóbal Hill itself includes an outstanding geological interest, both geomorphological and mineralogical.
