Abstract

Objectives: To determine the influence of the degree of severity, the etiology of traumatism and sex on the injured in the evolution of cervical strain studied by traumatologists of the Medical Forensic Clinic of Madrid. To compare these results with those of other authors. Backgroun: Many authors (evaluating physicians, specialists, forensic physicians, Spanish Health System) have published studies about the periods of evolution of cervical sprain. It is of great interest that results were obtained by forensic evaluating physicians who are also traumatologists. Results: Besides studying the periods of evolution, which are of interest since they serve as a guide in the clinical history of the injured, results were obtained taking into account the influence of the degree of severity, sex and etiology of traumatism. Conclusions: There is a longer evolution period of the injured in the case of severe degree, in females, and in those where the cause is being run over in a traffic accident.
