Abstract

Sediment yield at some reservoirs in the Ebro river basin have been determined by means of bathymmetrical and sedimentological surveys. The studied reservoirs account for more than 80% of the surface of the Ebro Basin. Sediment yield values obtained range from 3 to 1219 t/km2. yr. The values are lower in the right margin side of the Ebro river than in the left one. Several factors such as steeper slopes, higher precipitation rates, different soil uses and different types of erosion are interpreted to be responsible for the differences observed between the two margins. In addition, some data of suspended and dissolved solids carried to the Mequinenza-Ribarroja-Flix reservoir scheme are available and showed in this work. These data support the results obtained from reservoirs surveys
