Resum

In this paper, applications and conversion technologies from solid biomass, biogas and biogenic fraction of waste to energy are analysed. Data about the evolution and situation of these renewable resources, in the world and also in the OCDE countries, are presented, as well as the resource potential at the world and UE levels. Different aspects related to costs are studied. Finally, sustainability and emissions (both GHG and local pollutants) are also considered.
