Abstract
This paper intends to show family mediation in Spain as a new professional area for Social Work. Within the last decade, mediation has broadened its scope and gained a considerable level of recognition. For these reasons, this paper analyzes the development of new social achievements in family studies and the incorporation of mediation to higher education requirements in European countries and, consequently, to the curricula of Social Work.
