Resum
Dental implant design is frequently changing by scientific and comercial reasons. We realised a review about how clinical and biological aspects of macrogeometry affect at mucous and bone interface. The results of articles revised showed that new implant designs improved the primary stability in bone with low density and are better to distribute biomechanicals loads. Some designs permit implant placement in defects of alveolar anatomy and in postextraction sockets. The experimental and clinical results proved that designs without smooth neck, conic form, self-tapping apex, those with a double or three espiral and round profile threads.
