Resumo
The Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia is a disorder that affects various components derived from the ectoderm, including the teeth. Patients with this disorder have oligodontia and even anodontia, implying morphological, functional, aesthetic and psychological repercussions that must be addressed at an early stage. The dentist has an important role in oral rehabilitation of these patients because it must replace the missing teeth to provide them a better quality of life. This is accomplished by prosthetic treatments, full or partial dentures, fixed or removable, from an early age, although at present we have other options, such as rehabilitation with implants, which cause an ongoing debate among professionals.
