Resum
A review of the different slow release svstems of delivering antimicrobial agents for the treatment of periodontal diseases has been carried out. Far from representing a substitution of conventional mechanical modes of therapy, these new deliverv svstems mav add support to scaling and root planning. Therefore, the main objective of this review is to know the different systems available, their advantages anddisadvantages, and the essential features of each.
