Zusammenfassung

Actually, identification of gingival and periodontal microflora is possible with a number of microbiological methods. In this section, some of these diagnostic technics used during many years in periodontology are shown, describing their advantages and disadvantages, technical particularities and their real clinical utility at this moment.
