Abstract

Cloud computing is a revolutionary stage in the development of informatics and telecommunications. It is a new sociotechnical paradigm that gives many advantages to users, but presents serious ethical and political dilemmas that have to be addressed. This article argues that such dilemmas have to do mainly with the nature of cloud computing, and secondarily with its contexts of use. A list of such dilemmas is presented, and also an analysis from two axes: cloud computing as an inherently political technology, and a methodology of reticular ethics.
