Zusammenfassung
Imbued with power for the Muslims, the Khamsa -also known as the Hand of Fatima- is a fail-safe protection against the evil eye and one of the most widespread symbols in the Muslim world. A recurring theme since the Middle Ages, it is frequently found on walls or on gated entrances to dwellings in order to keep evil spirits at bay, as well as by forming part of the jewels and other personal objects by virtue of their particularly auspicious and protective nature.
