Resumen

Los recursos de uso común son bienes cuya provisión no competitiva está regulada por un entramado de normas colectivas típicas de las sociedades tradicionales, si bien es objeto de discusión que puedan prosperar en las sociedades contemporáneas. El objetivo de este artículo es contribuir a ese debate mediante el análisis del caso del equipamiento de las vías de escalada, que posee algunas características de los bienes comunes. Metodológicamente, se han realizado entrevistas a un conjunto de equipadores muy experimentados acerca de los aspectos éticos y subjetivos de su actividad. A partir de ese material se plantea una reflexión teórica en torno a los aspectos motivacionales de los bienes comunes en las sociedades complejas. La conclusión es que los suministradores de bienes comunes en entornos comunitarios tenues tendrán que afrontar fuertes dilemas en la medida en que son proveedores de bienes públicos sin contrapartida económica o de estatus y sin un marco normativo que proporcione sentido colectivo a esa actividad.
