Abstract

The meanings and processes involved in the creation and development of 20th century Spanish Modernism cannot be understood without taking account of the concept of Modern Classicism, also known as Neoclassicism. It a new classicism arose as a conduit to European modernism, thus reinforcing the idea of Spanish national identity.
