Abstract

The floristic composition and distribution of pastures in Sierra del Castillo (Sierra de Guadarrama, Central Spain) are studied. Various sampling plots at different altitudes on the Southern and Northen slops were sampled and analysed by multifactorial methods. The structure of vegetation is studied in eroded («rexistasia») and preserved («biostasia») áreas. The analysis of information offers the following results: there is a clear biocenotic discrimination dus to the difference between the Northen and Southern aspects. In the south slopes several sectors are ordinated acording to altitud and erosión. In the north slopes, however, altitudinal dífferences are not detected floristicaíly, the pastures being discriminated by erossion proccesses.
