Resumen
En este trabajo se analizan los regímenes cambiarios de los países de la Europa central, oriental y mediterránea (PECOM) que se han ido incorporando paulatinamente a la Unión Europea o son candidatos potenciales a la adhesión. Tras examinar la elección a la que se enfrentan los países respecto a los regímenes cambiarios y analizar los regímenes legalmente existentes en los PECOM en el momento de su acceso a la UE, se presenta el diseño institucional del camino de los nuevos socios europeos hacia el euro y se estudia la posible divergencia entre regímenes cambiarios de iure y de facto en los PECOM.
