Résumé

Recovery bipolar disorder in euthymic phase is characteristic for its definition, but it is known that the neuropsychological deterioration persists during the residual phase. Diverse studies suggest the maintenance of cognitive deficiencies in asymptomatic patients. The objective of this study is to evaluate the possible cognitive dysfunction of bipolar patients in the state of euthymia through a battery of tests that examines capacities such as memory and inhibitory functions, comparing the scores of eleven bipolar disorder patients to those of fourteen healthy subjects through a set of neuropsychological tests. In general, the bipolar patients obtained worse scores concerning the control group; so it is important to point out the evidence of stable and durable cognitive deterioration in all of the phases of bipolar disorder, including the remission phase (euthymia), in particular, in the next fields: verbal learning, memory and executive functions.
