Abstract
The bone lesion, known as Stafne’s cavity, was described in 1942 and has received a variety of names since then. There are numerous theories that try to explain the appearance of the lesion and its consequent clinical, radiological and pathological anatomy repercussions. The case presented serves as a typical example for updating current knowledge about the idiopathic bone cavity and for stressing how importance it is to do a differential diagnosis of this benign entity with other, potentially more aggressive ones, using proper diagnostic methods.
