Abstract
Madrid in 1808 is a nucleus of population delimited by Felipe IV’s wall, who forces to a growth in the interior, without possibility of spreading. The urban reforms carried out in the 18th century intensify this situation. This area is cartographed closely in the Planimetría General de Madrid; later the planes of Espinosa de los Monteros, Tomás López and others allow us to identify and to know Madrid in 1808.
