Abstract
The antibiotics Spiramicycine, Metronidazole and Tetracyclines, frequently used in periodontal are reviewed. Their pharmacological characteristics and their specific therapeutic effects are analyzed, emphasizing the effectiveness of metronidazole against anaerobic microorganisms and the effectiveness of tetracyclines as an broad spectrum antibiotic and because of its anticollagenase effect.
