Zusammenfassung

This paper examines the Irish tradition of Saint Patrick’s Purgatory analyizing the Latin sources as well as Provençal and Catalan versions. The story was ordered around the Catalan version known as “Viatge del vescomte Ramon de Perellós i de Roda fet al Purgatori nomenat de Sant Patrici” (1397) and it has had an extended modern and contemporary projection, including Castilian literature during the Baroque and Romantic periods
