Abstract

This research aims to collect the views of secondary school students on any aspect related to music lessons. The development of the research was carried out in the last quarter of the 2009–2010 academic year. This experiment was performed on two groups of 2nd year of secondary education in two different centers of the Community of Madrid. It was considered essential to ensure the confidentiality and freedom of expression of students. For that reason two mailboxes would be put in each classroom. One of the boxes was used to deposit anonymous writings that would be known by teachers just after the experiment and another, whose content would only be known by teachers after the close of the proceedings with the notes. To find out the opinions of teachers before and after opening the mailbox, interviews would be utilized. The results would show that the topics covered by students mainly focus on the process of teaching and learning and the professor. In both respects the notes expressed numerous complaints and proposals. Teachers were disappointed by the results. We can conclude that the students have been outspoken but their collaboration to improve the teaching-learning process was much lower than expected.
