Abstract

Daily and annual variations in acetylene-reducing activity (ARA) and nitrogen input through litterfall in an Elaeagnus angustifolia stand near Madrid were determined. Maximum ARA was found at 6 a. m. and in September for daily and monthly measurements, respectively. Total nitrogen input in litter fall was 34. 5 kg ha-' year-'.
