Abstract
The present longitudinal study has been performed in 93 elementary school students from Alcalá de Henares (52 boys and 41 girls) from 6 to 16.3 years of age choosen randomly to determine leeway space. Dental size was measured by only one individual using one-tenth milimeter caliper. Statistic analysis has been done. The outcomes show no right-left assimetry in lateral area's teeth of same dental arch. Mesio-distal diameter in lateral area's teeth was bigger in boys than in girls in booth arches and permanent and decidous, p<0.001 in ali groups. Leeway was 1.0 mm and 0.9 mm in maxilla and 2.0 mm and 1.9 mm in mandible in boys and girls respectively. Nevertheless there were marked individual variations and no significance difference between sexes.
