Abstract

In the present study mesio-distal permanent teeth diameters were measured in 235 primary school students from Alcalá de Henares (121 boys and 114 girls) chosen randomly from 10.8 up to 16.3 years of age. All dental measurements were made by the same investigator using a one tenth milimeter's precision sharp point calibrator. Posteriorly statistical analyse was performed. The outcomes show no asimetries between homonymous tooth in same arcade. Mean mesio-distal diameters in all permanent teeth were bigger in boys than in girls. There was significative statistical difference in incisors, canines and first molars in both arcades and 2nd. mandibular bicuspid. There was no significative evidence in upper bicuspids and in lower first bicuspids. Upper and lower canines presented a marked sexual dismorphism.
