Resumen
We have considered appropriate to include in this issue number 100 devoted to Prof. Puig Adam one of the most reprensentative lessons of the heuristic method that he advocated. The chosen lesson treats the manipulations leading to the discovery of the operative structure of the square root, with the help of some appropriate didactic material. For the sake of brevity, we have described it in an algorithmic way. In this article we pay special attention to comment the didactical materials used in the successive courses where we have taught this lesson, including a computer simulation that we developed ad hoc.
