Resumen

Poor performance in school is a serious social problem with personal, family and social repercussions. You need to know the context of the students, as well as to deeper in their knowledge and analysis of the academic performance. This article presents a study on the variables of the risk factors involved in the academic performance of students of Obligatory Secondary Education (ESO). The research focuses on a statistical study during the academic year 2012-2013. The data are processed by a binary logistic regression model, which estimates the probability of promotion to the 4th year of ESO with no subject failed. The results show the importance of having interest in studies as well as effort and dedication by them.
