Abstract

Objectives: To evalúate clinically and radiographically the application of Portland cement as pulpotomy therapy in primary molars. Material and method: Eleven lower primary molars were studied over a 12 month period. Results: No pathological signs were found either clinically or radiologically, and reparative dentin fonnation was found in the form of stenosis. When Portland cement was compared with MTA, statistically significant differences were not found with regard to resorption, but there were differences with regard to the parameter of stenosis that was more frequent with Portland cement. Conclusions: Portland cement could be an altemative to MTA. More clinical studies are necessary
