Zusammenfassung
Culture is the universe of reality that man raises with his initiative, his mind and his hands. Out of the nature that man inherits from the supreme Maker, what man does with it and from it somehow contributes to his own human fulfillment. In light of creation, fall (lapsus), and above all in light of the Incarnation of the Word and redemption, Christianity sees that everything human has been object of God’s attention. This paper tries to reflect on the meaning of the baptismal vocation of lay Christians –the consecratio mundi–, some of the main trials that “inculturation of faith” currently faces, especially in Europe and particularly in what s. John Paul II called the “new aeropagi”, and some challenges that this effort involves in order to understand the task of a Christian educator.
