Abstract
The development of the Information and Knowledge Society is affecting social, economic and political fundamental ambits. It is justified, then, the critical thought about the consequences of this social change process. In this article, we interest about the influences of the development of Information and Knowledge Society over politics. Pointedly, the interest is in the effect that the Digital Break (unequal distribution of access and use of the Information and Communication Technologies) might have over a particular kind of political practices on- line: those linked to the idea of politic representation. So, the concept of digital democracy is analyzed paying special attention to the electronic vote practice. The concept of Digital Break makes reference to its risks for digital politics. This is applied over the Spanish case. To conclude, we speculate over the possible consequences of Digital Break over the concept of political representation.
