Resumen

Resumen En esta actualización se realiza una puesta al día sobre la patología de la aorta torácica y abdominal, incluyendo las más recientes modificaciones en las indicaciones y en los métodos de tratamiento actuales. Las enfermedades de la aorta constituyen una patología frecuente y habitualmente grave que incluye un amplio espectro de enfermedades como los aneurismas, el síndrome aórtico agudo, lesiones traumáticas, enfermedades genéticas, inflamatorias y patología congénita. El conocimiento de cada una de estas patologías es de la mayor importancia ya que, por un lado, los síndromes aórticos agudos con frecuencia requieren toma de decisiones precisas y adecuadas para obtener el mejor resultado clínico. Por otro lado, un gran número de enfermedades aórticas, especialmente los aneurismas, pueden cursar de forma asintomática, por lo que el diagnóstico y una correcta indicación terapéutica serán fundamentales para reducir la mortalidad.
