Resumo

In recent decades, the implementation in police organizations of research teams composed of psychologists and criminologists has gained some importance. Their primary function is to assist the police in charge of criminal investigations by offering suggestions for criminal investigation based on psychological analysis of the crime. In this article, one of those tools is presented, the V.E.R.A. method, created drawing on professional experience and based on the principles and concepts of psychology, whose goal is the development of a working hypothesis that will help police investigators to be more effective in clarification of serious crimes.
