Abstract

The article presents a view of the new trends in German-language theatre underthe theme of globalization. It starts from the hypothesis that there is a relationship betweenthe global phenomenon and the theatrical form from performance to document theatre. Forits corroboration, some representative works have been selected from three different points ofglobalization, namely migratory movements, criticism of a new neoliberal policy connectedinternationally and the impact of the media today. In the German-language theatre of the socalledpost-dramatic era, experiences with documentary content predominate, both to bringrealism to the stage and to probe into the relationship between the factual and the fiction. Inaddition to the experimental nature of the plays, there is also a growing political commitmentin today's German-language theatre.
