Resum

Propolis is a natural resinous substance with antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiinflammatory and healing properties. Due to these properties and their few side effects, its applications are increasingly studied. NBF gingival gel also adds to its composition Vitamin C and Vitamin E, giving it greater antioxidant power. The purpose of this work is to summarize its applications in different oral pathologies such as periodontal disease and gingivitis, caries, different lesions of the oral mucosa, or as an aid to the healing of the tissues after oral surgery treatments. In short, the bacterial resistance of some drugs and the broad properties of propolis make this product a safe alternative for the treatment of different oral pathologies. However, more properly designed human clinical trials are necessary to determine the efficacy of this gel.
