The reform of the Constitutional appeal resulting from the amendment of the LOTC significantly modified the manner in which this specific type of appeal interacts with the process established under the Rome Convention to protect the rights under the Convention before the European Court of Human Rights. This article examines the standards underpinning that interaction given the necessity of taking them into consideration in order to design any defensive strategy in connection with human rights — an area that, surprisingly, has not attracted as much attention as it should merit
