Valor pronóstico de la fluorofotometría vítrea en la Diabetes Mellitus juvenil

Abstract
Juvenile Diabetes Mellitus is an important disease with a high rate of blindness. Because of the well-established treatment with laser photocoagulation and possible future approach with forthcoming drugs, new methods for early diagnosis and follow-up are mandatory: vitreous fluorophotometry. In this report we study 10 healthy subjects and 40 diabetics patients under 20 years. Permeability indexes were significantly higher among diabetics and statistical correlations were found between HbA₁c, insulin dose/weigh, time from onset and those indexes. Other parameters such HLA, blod pressure, growth hormone, somatostatine C and lipids did not show correlation with the former indexes.
