Zusammenfassung

We present a case of tadpole-shaped pupils with an associated Horner' s syndrome, in a 26 year-old female, who came to our hospital because of episodes of orbital pain and blurred vision in her left eye during the last ten days. These episodes lasted 1 or 2 min. and recurred several times a day. We could take same photographs of the pupillary-distortion during these crisis. These episodes finished spontaneously leaving a 3rd. neurone Horner's syndrome without another neurological findings. Only 26 cases of segmental pupillary distortion have been described since 1912. lt' s due to a focal spasm of the iris dilator muscle probably produced by a neural stimulus.
