Zusammenfassung
Beetwen Freud’s Dora case study, published in 1905, and Lady Gaga's revelation of her diagnosis of fibromyalgia syndrome, a hundred years of psychoanalytic approaches to a type of suffering that takes the body as a privileged mode of expression have elapsed. The aim of this paper is to present a contemporary psychodynamic approach to Functional Somatic Syndromes, to illustrate this approach with some clinical examples, and to describe a therapeutic proposal that has been developed for over a decade in an outpatient setting and noteworthy modified since it was outlined in this very journal seven years ago.
