Resum

This paper studies Phlip William of Neoburg, who, in the first half of 17th century, became the first Europe’s «father-in-law», marrying her daughters with the major sobereings of Europe with the premise that his family was really fertile and the women of the family were prone to have lots of children. It studies too how his sons achieved the highest ecclesiastic and military ranks, always close connected with the Austria House, near its own extintion on that period, both in its Madrid and Vienna branches. Finally, it studies how the made line of Neoburg House became extint after this first generation and how it was the female line who would make alliances with the lesser branches of the family in order to preserve united the familial patrimony and, at the end, unify the heritage of the Wittelsbach House’s two Electors.
