Zusammenfassung
With a very synthetic conceptual approach, but chronologically very broad, this paper presents the panorama and evolution of the episcopal fortifications of the Crown of Castile since the work covers from the XI to the XVIII century. In each of the centuries, the main characteristics of this important group of Castilian fortifications are emphasized. They belong to the ecclesiastical episcopal elite and had never been addressed jointly until now.
