Abstract

The goal of this paper is to study the food and beverage industry in Spain. For this, firstly the study reveals the existence of businesses in the phase of decline in a seemingly stable and countercyclical industry, ratifying the validity of the academic indicators of the life cycle model and structural analysis; then, the paper establishes the theoretical models proposed by academic research and their comparison with the strategic behavior implemented. The comparison shows differences between the prescribed behavior and the one actually implemented. The results and conclusions allow to advance in the knowledge of the strategic behavior to face he decline in the Spanish manufacturing sector
