Abstract

This research has two main purposes. On one hand, to go into detail about the desire to drink, to develop an instrument to measure it and to analyze the relationship of the construct and its components as well as individual profiles of desire derived from it taking into account different sociodemographic variables and the medical record and personality traits of the sample. On the other hand, the study aims to deepen the knowledge of relapses, analyzing what has been the result of the treatment that patients have undergone in the period of 6 month follow-up. It also pretends to check how and when it happened (profiles relapse) analyzing the relationship and the degree of association of these aspects of relapse with the desire to drink and their components, the severity of dependence and some personality traits such as impulsivity and sensitivity to punishment and reward, assessing the predictive power of these variables on them (what, how and when happened). Keywords: Alcoholism, desire to drink, relapse, treatment.
