Abstract

Security is one of its most important aspects of International Relations. Nowadays we are witnessing a transformation of the international power structure, as well as a new power configuration in the Mediterranean region. These changes have implicit hybrid security threats, such as, international terrorism, organized crime or irregular immigration. These challenges directly affect NATO’s Southern flank countries: Italy, France, Greece, Turkey and Spain. In this sense, NATO, as the most important security Organization, shall to be aware of these threats, while must use their capabilities and strengths in order to face the stabilization of the Southern Mediterranean.
