Abstract

Application of the Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature (1986) obligates to use the hardly fortunate name Coremion albi Rothmaler 1954 to designate the psammophilous, scrubby communities of Southwestern Iberian Peninsula, in place of the more significant one of Stauracantho-Halimion halimifolii Rivas-Martínez 1979. Nomenclatural changes carried out by this are discussed and consolidated. New names, ncotypes and synonyms of the illegitimate names Coremetum vicentinum Rothmaler 1954 (Thymo camphorati-Stauracanthetum spectabilis non:. nov.) and Coremetum taganum Rothmaler 1954 (Thymo capitellati-Stauracanthetum genistoidis 110111. 120V.) are apported, as well as the eompletive syntaxonomy of the alliance.
