Abstract

From a physicochemical point of view we can define peloids as heterogeneous systems, with solid phases formed by a mixture of inorganic or organic solids suspended or wetted with a liquid phase, formed by a solution of ions and molecules of inorganic and organic origin whose solvent is the water. The most important solid phases are clays and peat. In this article we will first study physical properties of clays and peat as raw materials for preparation peloids, to do it later with the mechanical and thermal properties of peloids whose solid phases are clays and peats.
